The Tavern on the Square has been a restaurant since 1931. Although ownership has changed hands several times, it has always been family owned and operated. When the new owners saw the ‘permanently closed sign’ hanging on its door, they felt the call to action. They purchased the landmark in 2022 and spent two years in total restoration of the 1849 Antebellum home-turned-restaurant. Since opening the doors in 2024, the restored Tavern on the Square has welcomed over 80,000 guests.

Farmers are our neighbors so, when sourcing, we seek local products, first and work closely with local growers. We also use antibiotic and hormone-free proteins. Quality is our commitment, care is what drives us. We look forward to seeing you here in the country!
